Saliva Hormone Testing
Saliva testing is a useful diagnostic tool in measuring various hormone levels when diagnosing and treating hormone imbalance. Salivary hormone concentration represents the free form of a particular hormone rather than the bound form of hormone as measured in blood tests. Saliva tests are non-invasive and multiple samples can be taken over a period of time, which helps reflect the body’s daily hormonal fluctuation. Saliva hormone testing is useful in the diagnosis of cycle abnormalities as well as the management of bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.
Avant Gynecology offers various saliva hormone panels to assess hormonal imbalance and response to hormone replacement therapy. Cost varies among the different hormone panels, and some insurance plans cover a portion of the test cost.
