We are currently seeking an experienced Insurance AR Specialist to join our billing team with a strong background in GYN claims processing and insurance follow-up.

Job Summary

The Insurance AR Specialist is responsible for managing the insurance accounts receivable, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of outstanding claims, with a particular emphasis on GYN-related services and procedures. This role plays a key part in optimizing revenue cycle performance and maintaining compliance with insurance policies and coding regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and manage aging insurance A/R reports to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Follow up with insurance companies on unpaid, underpaid, or denied GYN claims.
  • Identify and correct billing errors, re-submit claims, and appeal denials as necessary.
  • Work closely with coding staff to ensure accurate CPT, ICD-10, and modifier usage for GYN procedures including but not limited to hysteroscopies, myomectomies, ultrasounds, and IUD insertions.
  • Communicate with providers and front office staff to resolve claim discrepancies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer policies, especially for commercial and government plans related to gynecological services.
  • Document actions taken in practice management system to ensure a clear claim history.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing/accounts receivable, with a strong preference for GYN or women’s health. Knowledge of GYN-specific coding and billing requirements (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).

  • Familiarity with clearinghouses, EDI systems, and payer portals.
  • Strong understanding of payer guidelines and EOB/ERA interpretation.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management systems (Greenway software a plus)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
